Official SketchUp API issue tracker on GitHub

We’ve started using an issue tracker on GitHub to track bug reports and feature requests from the public: Issues · SketchUp/api-issue-tracker · GitHub

This tracker is only for API issues! Anything off topic will be closed.

Please use the tracker on GitHub to officially file an issue - as that is regularly monitored and tracked.

FYI - the issue tracker is currently inaccessible to those without a Trimble Employee account.

To be precise, if you try to access the tracker issues page: GitHub · Where software is built , while logged in with a regular GitHub account, you get redirected a Trimble sign in page (I think for employees of Trimble).

If you are logged out of GitHub, you can see the issues on there, you just can’t add any.

I think someone at Trimble need to fix some permissions.

@tt_su @CraigTrickett How are we supposed to access the GitHub issues? Are developers not allowed to contribute any more?

I’m met with a sign-in screen if I want to see the issues and I can’t sign-in (seems to be employee only)

I have no issue to see or sign in and create New Issue here: https://github.com/SketchUp/api-issue-tracker/issues
(I am not a registered developer or Trimble employee.)

GitHub has implemented 2 factor authentication. This may be new to you if you haven’t logged into GitHub in a while. You’ll need to set up 2FA in your GitHub account if you wish to log in.

So to comment or open new issues, you must log in. But as @dezmo says you can just view and read issues without logging in.

Wow, really? (you must already be signed in) I see this when clicking your link:

When I click Continue, I get here:

Signing in with my GitHub credentials does not work and I am unable to sign-in using my TrimbleID since I use Google Oauth for my TrimbleID

OK, turns out I could see the issues only when I logged out of Github. When I am signed in on my Github account, I get the Trimble login prompt…weird.

Whenever I am signed in to Github, I cannot access the issues and obviously cannot add comments to them ether.

How am I supposed to contribute to the issues?

This is really strange. I don’t think GitHub has anything to do with Trimble. I don’t think you even need to have a Trimble account to use the SU Issue tracker on GitHub. I guess, something is really messed up with your browser or whatever, I’ve never had to use my Trimble account on GitHub…

My GitHub account is completely independent of my Trimble account. These don’t even need to know “about each other”! (To the best of my knowledge and hope. :innocent:)

I notice that at the top of the 2nd screen snip it says that you are connecting to GitHubEnterprise. Apparently Trimble has an enterprise account with GitHub?
