Not so well known Layout feature?

I remember “complaining” about this 2-3 years ago… and did not get a solution on the forum. But (on a Mac) dimensioning with shift + option lets you measure between two lines although the endpoints do not line up well. Maybe it’s been like this all along, but I have not seen it mentioned in those video tutorials.

Tried in on Windows and after some experimentation found its Shift and the alt keys on this system.

I think this feature has been around for a while. I looked back through release notes but didn’t see it. Might not have gone back far enough.
