New graphic card (FirePro V3800)

Hey there,

my sketchup crashes every time i want to create an pdf with edge-smooting, so i thought that this issue caused of my bad GC. Thats why i want to buy a new graphic card.

i got a pc with Sketchup 2019 running on W10.
My grahics card is the ATI FirePro V3800 with 512MB V-RAM.

I thought bout the “Zotac GeForce GT 730” with 4GB of V-RAM.
If this isn’t enough i thought bout the GTX 1050 from ZOTAC.

Is this enough or do i need definetely the GTX graphic card?

the nVidia GeForce GT 730 is a pretty slow low-end card roughly 5 years old you should definitely avoid, the GTX 1050 Ti is the price-performance-winner approx. 6 times faster.

So the crashes are caused by my FirePro graphics card?

Possibly, maybe even likely. But there are other possible causes of crashes, and without examining a crash dump file nobody can say for sure (and maybe not even then, as the dump files are pretty technical).

Have you already tried downloading and installing the latest driver for your Firepro card from the AMD website? It is rather an old model, though.

if the latest driver version of the FirePro installed you may want try if disabling “Window > Preferences > OpenGL > Use Fast Feedback” helps.
