Multiple material options for a single surface

Hi there.

In my model I want to show four different paint options for a space. Is there a way to, for example, show a wall in four different colors and save these options in four identical views? I thought of copying the model four times and creating each option but need the views to also be identical. There must be a way to do this?

Thank you

There is a way to do it. I did this on that topic some time ago.

One thing you can do to keep the views the same is create the scenes first from the same camera position.

Is there a way to do this with SU 2023?

Same way as I showed in the link.

Layers were replaced by Tags, and I cannot get it to work the way you did. Does it work the same for you with Tags?

Yes. The only difference is the word used: tag instead of layer.

Share the SketchUp file so we can see what you are working with.

The Entity Info seems to disappear when I change the tag to one that is not visible.

What do you mean? Entity Info only displays information about the selected entity or entities.

What are you trying to show with different materials?

You should group the walls in your model and ALL edges and faces should be untagged. The blank Tag field in Entity Info indicates there are multiple tags involved in the selection.

So sorry, I included the wrong file.
I would like to have different wall colour options.

Take a look at the attached file. I’ve made three copies of the group and applied different materials. Then I assigned a different tag to each group. I left them spread out in the file but you can move them so they alloccupy the same spaced and then choose which tag is visible for a scene based on the one you want to show.
