Interesting,
BTW, @Donovan you forgot to add link in the video description to this forum thread
Waiting for the stream to start
Fixed!
That was a really nice and informative stream, I’m not into the construction industry but I learned a lot from it today.
Thanks to SketchUp team and all the cool guys in the chat
Interesting viewing, I learn’t a couple of things and always enjoy Aaron’s honesty when he is addressing the same problems we all face. While it was great to see the model being put together, it would be useful to see how the task might have benefitted from components and also how the information in those components can be leveraged when annotating in Layout. When you have several details to present the last thing you want to do is waste time rewriting notes or even copying notes between pages. That problem is escalated when the description changes for a component and you have to update all the relevant notes you manually typed in.
We received several requests similar to yours. For example, going from an architectural model to a detail such as Aaron showed (compared to going from 2D CAD to 3D). And again, taking from SU to LO. Looks like we may have enough for another ‘details’ stream coming up.
Great Live One! Thanks Eric and Aaron. Like others here in the comments I always learn a few new things from the live stream. Can you post your models and the 2D drawing? All the best, Transom
