I do my best to address issues and fulfill most feature requests (if they are reasonable and seem useful to at least 80% of the user base). Thank-you for your words of confidence, I appreciate it.
Usually what holds me up is not because I don’t know that a limitations exist but I haven’t figured out an algorithm that works effectively or solves a difficult problem. This was the case with complex roofs, polygon truss floors and most recently, complex stairs (multi-run stairs). Sometimes I will shelve a problem if I can’t see my way around it but it is always still there in the back of my mind. Then, usually out of the blue, I have an epiphany or some other catalyst refocuses me back onto the problem that gives me hints or added motivation to find the solution. Once the solution is apparent then you usually you will see rapid progress from this end.
With stairs and landings I really wasn’t focusing on this too much (the Floor plugin was taking all my time and energy) but then I watched this video by Aaron a couple weeks ago and it made me realize that landings are such a pain in the butt:
I was also modeling that big house (bed in breakfast) model and I encountered some interesting stair cases with multiple landings. So this retriggered my interest in stair cases in general:
