cant get texture to align or snap to axis’s; positioning tool rotates inaccurately, cannot rotate custom angles; why does the texture apply off axis?
What SketchUp version? Your forum profile does not have a version.
Post your model.
I’m out of the office now, I’m sure someone else will come along and have look.
Assumption: you have applied the texture to a face and not a component.
Have you tried right clicking on the face and going to Texture>Position and then reset, or right click again and select reset?
Your tile texture on the floor is displaying aligned to the edges of the texture image so it’s doing what it should. This is the texture image opened in an imaged editor.
It doesn’t help that your model is located at around 745 feet from the origin and rotated off axis either. You should keep the model close to the origin.
Here I’ve moved the model to the origin and aligned it with the model axes. Rotated the texture works fine then.

What version of SketchUp are you using? Are you still using El Capitan as the operating system? Please complete and update your forum profile.
@ridicholas, yeah, If the tile is supposed to be aligned at 45° in the first place, the axes need to be aligned correctly before you place the texture.
I moved your model to the reset axis.
I made a copy, I’m not sure what you really want for the floor. I manually rotated the texture in the bathroom on the right to be parallel with the walls.
If you use groups or components the texture comes in based on the axis of the group / component. The shape on the left was made into a group aligned with the axis of the model. The group on the right was rotated first, then made into a group. Note how the texture is changed.

Thanks, I like indicating a pattern of 1x1 tile / as in this preliminary concept sketch for a bathroom.
You might want to review some of the basics:
Consider building the model in its own file and then bringing that into the landscape / site plan as a component (that you can update / swap out as things change). This will make the house modeling far easier to manage, and you because you are modeling a rectilinear building all the axis can work with the main model axis without needing to have things so spread out and at weird angles.
That multi volume non orthogonal structure was built from separate components in separate files and then placed on the terrain.
Ok. Only seeing the bathroom made it seem (by the distance and angle of the original axis) that maybe you were working on a file that was very far and oddly angled to the axis.
Based on the information you provided after your initial post, you need to at least orient the axes to align with the edges of the floor in this case. As @ateliernab showed, the axes are not aligned to the geometry you are working on.
I can’t figure this out, the very simple model in question is aligned to the axis’s, the model is at the origin; but the pattern applies at an angle; Using the position tool, the pattern seems to avoid snapping to the axis, or at least does not rotate to the axis accurately. Other tools allow typing in a distance or an angle of rotation, here there are only orthagonal rotation selections of 90 180 270 degrees.
Help!
The model you shared is NOT at the origin.
You have moved the axes so their intersection is more than 743 feet from the origin. As was already explained, the origin is a fixed point in the model space. By default the model axes cross there. You can move the axes but you cannot move the origin.
From the appearance of the texture on the floor in your model it is evident that the model axes were moved between the time you applied the tile texture and you shared the file or you rotated it off axis so it doesn’t align to the edges of the floors.
Did you not read my posts or look at my model that I ‘fixed’ to show you why / how the texture gets applied?
I believe tile original tile texture comes in at 45°. If you want it aligned with the origins or parallel with the walls AND you have built your model with some logic you will need to rotate this texture 45° after you place it.
