Material Folders

Hello

I wonder if anyone can help, since upgrading to 2023 I haven’t been able to remove the default material folders in Sketchup Materials palette. I used to be able to go into the application and then select and trash the folders and they wouldn’t show up anymore (for example I really don’t need the 3d printing materials…). Would anyone let me know if this is still possible or have the paths changed or this workaround been stopped in the most recent release. I prefer to use my own materials if possible without having them cluttered with the default Skecthup ones

many thanks in advance

Dan

There was a fix in 21.0.1 to stop a Mac crash that would happen if you ran SketchUp from an unusual location. Part of that fix unpacks the shipped materials into the support folder. If you ran SketchUp once before deleting the materials you don’t want, they are most likely already in the support folder.

Look to see if you have a ShippedMaterials folder in this location:

~/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2023/SketchUp

Colin, Thankyou so much, that fixed it…I couldn’t work out why it was not working before.

all my best

Dan
