Making a glass pane

I am making a recangular glass pane about 1/2" thick. Does anyone know how to eliminate all the straight line edges and smooth them out so there are no dark lines outlining the pane?
I tried smoothing but it only did one edge and I can’t get it to do all edges.

Hide the edges, instead.

Three ways. Hold Shift while clicking on the edges with the Eraser tool or Select the edges, right click on one and choose Hide or select the edges and go to the Edit menu to select Hide.
