Hello everyone, I had an older version of SU that had a much better “squiggle” line style available. Can anyone identify what version had that option?
You’d have to give us more information. Can you find an image that uses such a thing? Is perhaps just the Jitter option in the Edge settings? That was removed a while back and I don’t think you can activate it at all anymore. This is from an old version.
Or maybe you are thinking of one of the styles from the shipped Sketchy Styles collection.
In older versions the line or any geometry being drawn was yellow, with default template . Is that what you are refering to ?
If you don’t find it you can still use profile builder with sketchup 2024 and create the line style you want.
I’ll try to be more specific. Attached is an elevation that has the line style I’m trying to get. In my current version of Sketchup 2025 I do not have all the controls to create a custome line style of my liking. Specifically the “squiggle” is on or off and is terrible. Looks like too much caffine. and the “stroke” profile appears to be different in other styles but I have no ability to edit it.
Do you have that model? Open it in SKP and you can move / save the style to a folder / collection and then you can use it elsewhere.
There’s never been a setting called “squiggle”. The closest would be Jitter which, as I already wrote, was removed a couple of versions back. Jitter was not used in the line style in your image. As @bmike suggests, open the SketchUp file to find out which sketchy edge style was used.
There’s a lot of post processing in that image–it’s not straight out of SketchUp if it was done in SketchUp in the first place. It’s possible the lines were done in post processing as well.
You must use the old graphics engine to be able to see some of those styles on the screen.
