LO 2025 Move Tool & Label Edit

Anyone else noticing labels edited with the new Move tool option aren’t writing the new node positions to the saved file? I have seen a number of drawings where I have used Move to edit the position of the text &/or leader and on re-opening the file the leader is awkwardly misplaced e.g. the leader was vertical but now points to the wrong place at an angle.

Yes. I think I posted as a bug in the beta testing website. Same with copying around…

I just upgraded two days ago and I am seeing the same behaviors in my Layout files. Its seems to happen if I copy a label. If I switch pages or reopen the file, any copied label’s leader will point to the original label leader’s location.

I’ve stopped copying them around and will make new ones, but copy / paste the text I need. A workaround until it gets fixed.

I have noticed it because I copy text between pages for similar detail. I then usually edit with Move to position the text block and the leader / element association node. Copy pasting the text to labels on different pages is bit of a pain.

Another work around is to copy-move a label, but after you get it where you want, cut and paste it back in place. The node doesn’t jump after that.

Hi @DGSketcher @bmike et al.

We have discovered the issue with labels having their leader point to the original location, and we hope to have this fixed in the next update.

A workaround for now is to enter manipulation mode on the new label and adjust the leader start point that way - that should cause the label to properly update its connection point until we fix the issue with the move tool.

Sorry for the inconvenience,
Adam
