Hi, there I know this might be out of pocket compared to the normal questions - this is more along the lines of sketchup schooling for a more advanced usage. I want to learn more about IFC, however there is not a lot of how to tutorials on You Tube to help on how to classify object and then add metadata to their attributes like “moment”, and “shear” values so I can write a formula in dynamic options to alert me when a column can’t support a beam and will turn red in the process of creating the building. Can anyone point me in the right direction with a beginners to advance level in BIM IFC for SketchUp.
I am by no means a pro in this arena… but maybe the 5D+ plugin helps you - it has an IFC exporter function and it’s quite configurable they say.
Why do you think you need to understand IFC to do this?
For that purpose you don’t need IFC. IFC is a standard for collaboration projects.
