I’m sorry but this change to Trays is garbage.

I join your sentiment that the UI of Layout 2026 is a big step backwards.
See the difference in empty vertical space compared to 2025 in this image. The result is that you need to scroll up and down the tray a lot more. Really hoping this get addressed in a future M-release.
I disagree – overall I prefer the less cramped feel of the new trays.
Of course I don’t have a default tray that contains all or most of the Inspectors – I have each Inspector within it’s own tray that I toggle on/off with the new keyboard shortcuts.
There are bugs and glitches though and I especially dislike the washed out pastel blue backgrounds of the new trays.
Many people on this forum have been calling for Layout to be more like SketchUp in the UI and this direction for Layout is moving it toward parity with SketchUp’s trays.
