Large Terrain Modeling

I am currently working on a large terrain mesh. It will be very large. I am bringing in contours from AutoCad. When the contours are imported into sketchup there are a lot of vertices on each contour. I was wondering if anyone knows of any tutorial videos that will teach me to reduce the amount of vertices to the imported contours. Right now the file is so large that it is difficult to pan around. ANy help would be great thanks.

I think I have found my solution. It reduced the file size down from 27 mb down to 5.5 mb. Big change and now I am able to run from contours or toposhaper very easily.

If you need more control for the reduction, you should have a look at Curvizard (Fredo6) too…
