My file is 56.5 MB, it used to crash pretty often but I was still able to advance even tho sometimes the autosaves didn’t work. But now it became completely unusable whenever I try to do any action it crashes. I tried removing every profile, tried using monochrome faces, disactivated sky and ground in background settings, removed some big materials but nothing changes. Is there a way to check which materials are heavy?
If you have access to the desktop versions there are extensions which will help you find large file sizes.
@TazSavage I don’t know how to transfer the file from ipad on the desktop
Do you know how by any chance?
transfer the file from ipad on the desktop - Google Search
Transfer files between your iPad and your computer – Apple Support (UK)
you should also be able to save it to Trimble connect. Might be the most straight forward way.
I have it on desktop now, what extension should I use? BTW it runs sooooo slowly on desktop, I don’t know if it’s the PC or my file, or both.
The first link I sent is an extension that gives a breakdown of what is causing the file size.
I hadn’t heard of that extension! I will give it a try.
If you share the .skp file I’ll go through it and see what might be cleaned up.
Thank Youuuu!!!
It works so much better now
what was causing your issue?
The texture of a model from the warehouse was the main issue, I found also other textures and models that were a little heavy thanks to the extension you recommended
A good practice is to avoid adding components from the 3D Warehouse directly into your project. Download them into a separate SketchUp session so you can examine them to ensure they are suitable. Clean them up if needed or reject them and look further. Once you are satisfied that the compoennt will do the job, copy it into your project.
Nevermind. It seemed to work at first but it still keeps on crashing (even on laptop), every single time I select the push/pull tool it crashes. Any ideas why that tool specifically? I already purged around 15mb using the goldilocks extension
