Importing favorite materials groups to SU 2016

How can I import or copy some favorite materials/textures groups from SU 2015 to SU2016 without having to do this one material at a time?

you need to do it in ‘Finder’ to grab the lot in one go…

do you know how to get to your v15 Materials folder?

You can copy your materials collection folders from 2015 to 2016 using Finder, outside of SketchUp. They are contained in

/Users/yourname/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 201x/SketchUp/Materials

Notes:

  • your Library folder is hidden by default in Finder. You may have to use Finder’s Go command to get there
  • SketchUp creates the Materials folder the first time you save a material, so it may not exist yet. If not, just go ahead and create it.

Hi folks.

On Mac OS, press and hold the alt key before selecting the** Go menu**.

Alternatively, select the Go menu then press and hold the alt key. The Library choice appears as soon as you press the alt key and disappears when you release it. When you see it, click on it.

To save time, I placed the Library folder name on my sidebar so I can access it anytime when I open the Finder.

Just ideas.
