Image vectorization

I have just read this tweet: https://twitter.com/DraftSight/status/1021726724118274049

Presumably, this would allow you to pull a PDF drawing (say) into DS and vectorize it before exporting to SU. I know there is other software out there that does this but it’s too expensive for occasional use.

When I stopped using AutoCad and started using SU in earnest, I switched to DraftSight as a free 2D AC clone. I only really use it now for viewing DWG files and amending legacy drawings, but I shall be keeping an eye on this development as it could hugely speed things up if it works.

Very interesting. I’ve tried a number of raster to vector programs and they do well with straight lines running horizontally or vertically on screen but they usually have trouble with diagonals and curves. If DraftSight doesn’t that’ll be a great feature.
