I am drawing a shop and want to be able to accurately calculate the metal roofing. How do I show the one foot roof overhang I use when installing a metal roof?
I’m not sure what the problem is. Can you show us what you’ve already got?
I usually draw the profile of the overhang at the end, then push/pull along the length of the eve:
Since overhangs are (generally) measured horizontally, I draw a line parallel to the red axis, then drop a vertical line and intersect it with an extension of the roof slope. then draw a line back to the wall to create a surface that can be pulled along the roof.
I hope that helps!
Hi, not sure if I’m in the right direction but you say accurately? I would suggest creatiing a fairly accurate profile of the sheet and then push/pull it to give the required length panel/sheet and make it a component. You can copy and overlap one another to get the coverage required. If you decide to change overhang/ just edit one and the rest will change accordingly.
Maybe not what you want, but hope it helps
This is incredible and all I needed to know. You are the greatest. Thanks a lot.

Hope I helped, good luck with the project.
