How to delete Instance name

Hello,
Do you know how to delete the instance name of a component?
The copies of a component have different instance names.
I first tried deleting the instance name in Model info. But sketchup refuses to leave the field blank.
So I deleted all the copies, keeping just one component, then I purged the model, then I tried deleting the instance name of the component. But that didn’t work either. I can’t delete the instance name.
Do you have a tip?

But It doesn’t work for me (su2025/mac)
I can change the name. But I can’t delete it and leave the field empty.

Just type a space in the Instance field :wink:

It bypass the empty field limitation and as it trims extra spaces, it allows you to enter an empty name.

I noticed this a long time ago. But I’m sure if this bug were reported to Trimble they wouldn’t do anything about it. So, this is how hacking will always win.
