How to apply a single texture image across multiple separate components in Sketch

How to apply a single texture image across multiple separate components in SketchUp, so the texture looks continuous across their faces — basically a seamless texture that spans multiple components?

When I need to do that I sample the material applied to the face of the first object and paint it on the next objects.

Note that if you have multiple instances of the same component you will need to use Make Unique so they are each different components.

Thanks DaveR i have duplicate components that I want to apply one texture image across all of them, so it looks seamless, like the texture spans across the combined

shape.

See my previous post.

i`m using the Curic Array plugin in SketchUp to create a group of repeated components and want to apply a smooth gradient across the entire group using a texture. However, applying a unique gradient to each component individually can be very tedious — especially if you want to keep them as instances of the same component? do you better technique?

I’m trying to use ThruPaint, but I’m having trouble figuring it out. Can you provide a step-by-step guide to help me get started?

Multiple instances of the same component, one texture

Otherwise, I hope you understood what Dave explained to you about Make Unique?

do you mind showing how you create “Multiple instances of the same component, one texture”?

If it’s just for rendering and you’re using V-Ray, you can ‘apply’ an image over some instances of a component (with Decal).
