Hello everyone, I’m working on a SketchUp topography model and I want to achieve a result similar to the reference image,
where the roads, buildings, landscape zones, water, and different materials are all cleanly adapted to the terrain. In my model, I already have the terrain with contour lines, road/path lines, building footprints, and site limits, but I’m struggling to make them follow the slope properly and to divide the terrain into clean areas for different textures such as grass, road, sand, paved zones, and water. I tried using the Sandbox tools, especially Drape and Stamp, but the result becomes messy and I’m not sure about the correct workflow. Should I project the roads onto the terrain first, create flat platforms for the buildings, then divide the terrain into material zones, or is there a better method using Drape, Stamp, Intersect Faces, groups/components, or plugins? I will attach my SketchUp file and a reference image so you can see what I’m trying to achieve. I’m mainly looking for the best workflow to organize the terrain, adapt roads and buildings, create clear boundaries, and apply different materials while keeping the contour lines visible. Thank you for your help.
