Don’t know who they’re too but this ‘Sneak Peek’ video from Google led me to them couple days ago.
I am actually quite surprised they use planes+cameras to make automated 3D buildings with that quality!
(and i think that reveals why they terminated uploading 3D buildings to Google Earth couple years ago)
Also there is VR feature which looks amazing!
The advances with aerial photography and photogrammetry are impressive (although they still cover only small “showcase” regions of the earth).
But on a related note, we also have to see that it has become a pure consumer product (professional GIS version almost discontinued) and that Google stretches its view of web neutrality and standards (wants you to use Chrome browser).
