I’m brand new to Sketchup, I’m not even sure how to open it on my computer 
. any help will be greatly Appreciated.
Did you install it?
If yes then if you go to Applications you can double click it and it will open.
If you did not install it you will need to double click the installer you downloaded and follow the directions…
and to make it even more clear, the instructions are “open the dmg you downloaded, then in it, drag the sketchup folder into the application folder”.
it’s hard to fail

Then close the installer window and eject the dmg.
