Hi,
i’m new to sketchup. i have a question. i have this model which i am trying to make. i am trying to make curved face on a oval shape object. how do i create the top half/bottom half to make it smooth to the slight curve face that i have? I have tried follow me but it doesnt work? Any help is appreciated

you’re in luck, someone just asked a similar question, making a compound curve
you can have a look there, making part of a sphere and scaling it so it matches your curves would work, so would curviloft
in the image (right) you’re showing, you could try selecting everything then right click / intersect with selection, and deleting the extra bits. might work too, hard to say without opening your file 
As pointed by ateliernab, it can be done without plugins.
If you want to practice with native tools, click in sequence on the scenes tabs of this SU file for ideas.
