Can you still generate Gaussian spalts with Sketchup?
I was getting an error message trying to generate them so uninstalled and reinstalled the extension and now the generation part of the extension no longer appears. Has this been removed?
no, this was part of the labs, and it was basically THE thing that was removed for the public release because it wasn’t working well.
this is the last labs release note moving the project to the extension warehouse. it’s going public and generation is removed.
since the gaussian plugin requires connexion, it’s safe to assume it works on servers. I guess they switched off the server until further release, that’s why you first got an error message
Indeed, we had a stability issue that made the server regularly stop working. We’ll work on it and fix it at some point but I cannot tell you when it’ll be back.

anyone got any recommendations for generation of GS while Sketchup’s is down?
I was away from the subject for a while but now I have my own drone and I’m not so reliant on others I’m keen to get back to it in a professional capacity.
when you start the gaussian splat importer, it shows you 2 exaple files (one with thomthom, one with a flower). third big blue button links you to a help page about making splats.
it links a few apps and services.
