AI isn’t creative at all. It can only combine different things that allready exist into something new…
In Dutch we say: “Beter goed gejat, dan slecht bedacht”.
it’s a Dutch proverb meaning: Better steal something nicely, than invent something new badly
In other words: Plagiarism…
So, in fact the intern has to get creative to accomplish the task of getting AI to produce something that will please the boss…
exactly, and they decided to invent something new badly on the back of badly stolen things
AI were supposed to lift burdens from our shoulders and make our lives easier, but they managed to train them to do all the fun and enjoyable things of creation, art, writing.
Even this challenge, it should be a fun 3d challenge for all of us, let’s all start from the same cube, and invent, model stuff with it, 3d, 2d, render, let’s make images with a soul.
half of us simply copied lyrics and waited for a digested hallucination. the other half typed an idea, refreshed once or twice, posted the result, and moved on with our lives.
that saddens me.
end of the off topic existential crisis. to me, the best cube of all is in the very first post.
@ateliernab , I see your pain…
Don’t understand me wrong, it’s fun to see what it comes up with but that doesn’t make it creative…
One of my college instructors once told us, (with regard to the requirement for a minimum number of references to support the topic of our term papers), and a wide grin on her face:
- “Stealing from one author is plagiarism. Stealing from many is research.”
I used that as a prompt
the fact that it gave me a cube with the X (ex twitter) logo on it is quite deep.
It has a thing against Xs I guess.
true true.
Is the iPad version any different from the desktop one? Prompt Influence is from 0 to 1 as is Respect Model Geometry. I’m not getting so much “creative” content in my results.
It occurred to me that my graduate school thesis advisor, Steve Kieran, designed a new US embassy for London that is basically a cube so I made a 65m cube and prompted for some of the basic facts and various terms for sun screens. It seems pretty stuck and conventional curtain wall, and the best it does for a brise soleil is a kind of Christo thing. As much as the real building is criticized for being a cube, I think KieranTimberlake were definitely more creative than the AI.
