I’m having an issue with Flowify warping geometry for a wrought iron stair rail. Flowify is working and this is what I have tried:
-Increased size x100
-Stair rail has been made into 2D, not 3D
-Tried cleaning up geometry with CleanUp plugin
I have used another wrought iron stair rail from 3D Warehouse with success and it didn’t warp it, so I am confused why some geometry works and other doesn’t.
If anyone can help me understand why this is happening and what I would need to do to get it to not warp, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
Thanks so much for your help! Just wanted to ask, is the reason you drew 50 planes to intersect the model to make the segments smaller so that it is manageable for Flowify to bend the geometry without warping? Would this be the same principle for example for perhaps other similar or more detailed stair rails?
All kind of deformations needs more geometry, plugin itself ads geometry but somethimes it is not enough. That is why i add extra geometry by intersecting. It helps all kind of geometry to displace or deform better..
Flowify has 2 ways to bend the geometry, for the first one you don’t need to add more geometry or intersect with 50 planes to create more geometry, it will automatically will create geometry where it needs to be done to be wrapped around the plane, the second one and the one I use most of the time is flowify without cut, with this option flowify bends the geometry only on the places you’ve created the geometry, you have more control with this option but you must make sure that you have geometry on the same places that you have on the grid when you impose grid.
