Hello,

You are asking for quite a bit out of your software package.

  • Draw in Pencil and convert to 2D then 3D.
    • You can draw on paper or even a Wacom tablet.
    • If on paper scan the image, save then drag and drop that image into SketchUp.
    • Trace it in 2D with accurate dimensions, then build the 3D up from there.
      • I imagine there might be some AI that can take your sketch and make either a 2d or even a 3d model, but at this point with the state of the art, I’m guessing you’d waste more time fixing that model versus drawing it directly yourself.
  • Easy to use interface.
    • Sketchup is probably one of the easiest programs to get started on.
  • Exchanging files
    • Sketchup has the ability to import and export various file types.

    • SU Import Format List

    • SU Export Format List

      • If you use Trimble Connect, you can save your file in the cloud and collaborate with others. If you want people to work on different aspects of a model at the same time, you can break those aspects into separate files that are referenced in and can be updated as needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUcD-EzG5Eo
  • Break Down of different furniture components
    • If you model each component as its own Sketchup Group or Sketchup Component, you can easily keep them separate and create exploded assembly views of the furniture.
  • Use AI to interpret 3D furniture into technical components for manufacturing:
    • That sounds awesome, I don’t know of any software that can do that.
      • There is an AI add on called SketchUp Diffusion that can take simple scanned sketches/models and combined with prompts will produce pretty amazing photo realistic images. This is great for concepts and marketing, probably not so much for production at this point.
  • Using AI to integrate manufacturing constraints
  • Being able to print a 2D, 3D and realistically rendered document
  • Being able to integrate the production into a photo:
    • You can use the Match Photo feature in SketchUp to align an object to a photo, however you’d still want to post process that in an image editor to make it look like its actually there adding shadows, reflections and radiosity as needed.
  • Being able to export the list of components to production software (ERP)

Hope that helps
