Export to DXF Open Entity Issue

I think I’m having the common DXF export issue with non connected lines due to arcs? I am exporting via 3D DXF and have tried what seems like all configurations of export options (no faces, faces included but deleted in the model, etc.). I also tried the Simple DXF extension which appeared to be broken? It only exported blank drawings.

View is set to top and parallel projection. I’ve tried 2D DXF exports and redrawing the arcs. Checking entity info shows they are all arcs, edges, or circles.

Am I missing something simple? I really appreciate the help!

Do either of these work better for you?

Relay Breaker Bracket 2.dxf (226.1 KB)

In 2D exports all arcs and circles are exported as line segments. 3D export renders them as AutoCad arches and circles.

Thanks Dave, no neither one of those cleared SendCutSend’s open entity checker.

I have been mostly trying 3D DXF exports but did try 2D just to confirm it wouldn’t work. I had success with this model but can’t figure out what I did differently.

I’ve tried six different exports either from SketchUp or LayOut as well as going through Inkscape starting with a PDF from LO. Each time SendCutSend reports different failures. Weird. Open the .dxf in FreeCadd reveals no problems with the file.

Hmm, maybe it’s a problem on their end then. I just assumed it was Sketchup screwing up the arcs/circles during export. Thanks for your help!

AutoDesk Viewer seems to leave out a line segment on the right side of both the model SendCutSend accepted and the one that they flagged.

It’s quite strange anyway.

It is probably just the way it sets its zoom. In DWG TrueView both the files you posted look OK. DWG TrueView is the free DWG/DXF desktop viewer from Autodesk. It is sort of full AutoCad with all editing features removed.

Oh nice, thanks for the tip I’ll check it out!

It looks like OSH Cut isn’t having an issue processing my DXF files (or they have a “smarter” processing tool that can deal with errors I’m making in my drawings :D). Same price so might have to just use them instead!
