Error importing Collada File (from Chief Architect) into SketchUp

A client has been working in Chief Architect, and they’ve exported Collada files in hopes that I can import into Sketchup (I am not familiar with Chief Architect, just Sketchup and Revit).
I have tried to import the Collada files a few different times, and the imports have failed. The first window that pops up is “missing textures” and the second window says Import Failed.

Any ideas? Just looking to get one of these files opened up to study some windows in 3D for clients who are very visual.

Thanks in advance!

If collada files use textures, the files for them must be in the same folder as the dae file.

What version of SketchUp are you really using? There is no free plan of SketchUp 2024 as you indicate in your forum profile.

I’m currently just using a trial to see if I can get the file to even open - my other work typically dictates I work in Revit.

Fair enough to use the trial for that. After all, checking to see if it fits your workflow is what the trial is for. Just be sure that you are in compliance with the licensing if you need to continue to use the app.

As for importing the file, we can guess as to the cause but if you are willing to share the file our sages and other users might be able to troubleshoot it a bit faster. I totally understand if you are reluctant to share the file but do give it some thought and if you get errors, sharing a screenshot is helpful.
