Does the latest version of Enscape work with the latest version of SketchUp (and Undet)?
Currently I am running …
SketchUp Version - 24.0.482 64-bit
Enscape Version - 4.0.1
Undet Version - 24.0.0.2600
… and everybody seems to be playing nicely.
But since I got shut down twice last year by issues with the incompatibility of various updates (loosing a week each time while things got sorted out) I am now a bit more cautious about upgrading as soon as one is announced.
And now, Enscape is happily encouraging me to “upgrade” to Version 4.1. But since I see recent postings to this Enscape/SketchUp thread … I am a bit “gun shy” (as we say here in Texas) of the upgrade.
Meanwhile, Trimble is quick to promote extensions as a “feature” of SketchUp … but as far as I know they take no responsibility for ensuring compatibility and/or interoperability of extensions … or at least for third party extensions.
Hence, my question: Is there any one place where SketchUp users can go to ascertain this sort of interoperability info?
In my opinion Enscape is superior Vray … and Undet is superior to Scan Essentials … but only if/ when they work.
With that in mind: Is Enscape 4.1 compatible with the latest version of SketchUp Pro 2024 and the latest version of Undet 2024?
I have SketchUp2024 installed and trying to install Enscape. I have uninstalled the old Enscape and tried version 4.0.0.581 as well as the newest 4.1.0.288 but I can’t get Enscape up no matter what I do, I have restarted several times. I have a Mac with Sonoma 14.2.1. How do I get Enscape up and running, anyone have an idea?
That is true, by intent. SketchUp provides the API and SDK to allow people to write extensions, but it is up to the individual authors to maintain what they write. There are thousands of extensions. Taking responsibility for them would be a very expensive task for Trimble, and might run afoul of intellectual property rights.
I’ve seen a bunch of issues caused by Undet’s installer, so I wouldn’t overlook that as being an issue.
I would consider uninstalling it (if you can!) and then reinstalling enscape , then putting undet back on.
Uninstall both SketchUp 2024 and Enscape, then restart your Mac.
Install SketchUp 2024 again, followed by Enscape. Sometimes, there might be something in SketchUp’s installation that prevents Enscape from finding it, or vice versa.
If Enscape is still not showing in SketchUp, try this workaround: Close all applications and open the System Settings. Then navigate to Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access. You should find at least one entry for Enscape there. Flip the switch on all of them to allow full disk access, followed by entering your admin password. This might be necessary in very unusual cases so that Enscape can exchange data with the CAD software, even on a very basic level. Restart the Mac after this and check again.
My current SU 24 and various Enscape versions no longer work. I installed the latest Chaos-operated Enscape and the tool bar disappeared. I redacted to earlier versions of Enscape and now it doesn’t render properly. Enscape told me to install the following updates to system files too. I did this all and the render quality is unusable. Also, the customer service from Enscape or Chaos is terrible
I, too, find it crazy that Chaos and Enscape have no phone lines. Some of us were born in the Eisenhower administration (no, really) but have been working on CAD since 1984 (again, really) - real live voices on the other end of a (fiber optic) phone line would help us out a lot.
I have the same problem!!! Updated Enscape because the upgrade popup kept coming up. Now it won’t appear in SK25. This was the latest beta release of Enscape 4.4.0.452.exe
I uninstalled it and re installed it, still didn’t work. Uninstalled it as well as SK25, deleted the files as descibed above, but still didn’t work. I have deadlines, and am not used to having these issues anymore… Has anyone got any tips on how to overcome this please?
I had to install an older version of Enscape. Now the most recent release shows up and works - for about 20 mins, then promptly crashes my computer. I’ve lost work and time and work and time. Unreal. For the cost of Enscape - they should be paying me at this point.
