Dynamic Component HELP!

Hello friends!
Could you guys please help me with this one?

I’m trying to create a dynamic component of a door with 3 different types of locks.

I just modelled the first one and it works as I planned. For the second, I just did a quick purge, changed the locks and saved as another model, and so on.

When I load the models on another file, the formulas on the dynamic components stay outdated, as I tried to show on this short video… Any tips to solve this issue?

Thanks in advance!

After copying a DC to modify or repurpose, the DC and all levels must first be made unique within the same file, so when brought back into the same context, they do not resort to the first downloaded definition of any of its parts

The best tool for this is @eneroth3 “make deep unique” available from extension warehouse which conveniently operates via context menu, and must be used after copy and before alterations

You may get some relief by using the generic “parent!” instead of a particular reference; parent refers to upper level and is independent of the label name

But need to upload offending DCs if you wish to get help (message if privacy wanted)

Thanks for the help!

At the end of the day I solved changing all atributes to “parent!”. But now that you mentioned it, I will try to find some info about the plugin!
