Dulux Trade Digital Palette from Extension Warehouse - BugSplat

I’m looking for help to either…

  1. avoid the Sketchup 2019 crash when I try to use the Dulux Trade Digital Palette; or
  2. use my 2019 Pro licence to run Sketchup Pro 2018 (which apparently supports the palette).

Crash usage details:
I’m running Sketchup Pro 2019 on a macOS Mojave (10.14.16) MacBook Pro (Retina 13-inch, Early 2015), Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB
Today I installed Dulux Trade Digital Palette from the Extension Warehouse.
The installation went smoothly except for a warning that the extension is not supported on my version of Sketchup.
Clicking on the newly installed Dulux extension icon displays the palette as expected, and I was able to switch to “Heritage” and change the “Hue” ranges fine by clicking.
But when I try to select a color, eg. “Turtledove Grey”, Sketchup crashes with a BugSplat.

  1. You could try contacting the extension’s author at the e-mail address provided on their page in the Extension Warehouse and see if they would update their extension.

  2. You could contact SketchUp Customer Support and see if they would downgrade your license to SU2018. It would actually be a different license and you’d give up running SU2019.

There are sources for materials collections that would likely give you all the colors you need without resorting to an extension. The 3D Warehouse has numerous collections, for example.

DaveR, thanks for that prompt & helpful reply.
I’ve already contacted the author, hopefully they will respond soon.
Interesting about downgrading, sounds like I’d better try all other options first, giving up SU2019 would be drastic.
I’ll take a look at the other sources of colours, it’s just that Dulux is my go-to because it’s in all the DIY shops here, and is our currently preferred brand.

I use paint colours for my work and found it annoying that Dulux don’t provide a full palette for download such as Resene, etc, and so having to find individual colours each time. Never thought of checking the Extension Warehouse. I checked out the extension - and now I am really confused, as the company that owns the contact email address is an innovations / solutions provider. It will be interesting to see what sort of reply you get.

Update: I got a nice email from the Extension developer asking for the BugSplat, and then some very friendly and helpful feedback (including the BugSplat) from Sketchup Support.
Though being impatient, I had also meanwhile found the .bugsplat.log file on my MacBook in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports :).
Stay tuned…
