Is there a way to ensure that your lines are coplanar when you’re drawing irregular shapes (ie- not nesessarily on the red, green or blue axis)…? I am trying to sketch in some meandering contours but my elevations are all over the place. Thanks in advance for your help!
You could try drawing a large rectangle and making it a group. Then draw on that, looking for the “on face in group” inference. When you are finished just delete or hide the rectangle.

Thanks for your reply Shep! I guess I thought that there would be something built in to SketchUp to keep your lines coplanar regardless of direction. But I will try this idea. Thanks again.
That’s why I invented SketchUp Plugins | PluginStore | SketchUcation
You don’t really have to make it a group (just go directly for On Face inferencing). That way, whatever shape you are creating will already have a face when you complete it, and you need only delete the part of the rectangle that lies outside the shape.

Those are all fantastic ideas. Thanks guys!
