Drawing a Sphere and Bowl

If it was exactly what I did, you wouldn’t have wound up with the gap like you’ve got. Can you set it up to the point just before you run Follow Me, save the SKP file and then upload it here?

Bowl.skp (1.8 MB)

This all has to do with the start and end line being perpendicular to the face of the half bowl… as I am sure THAT made a lot of sense… let’s look at some pictures!!

In this example, I drew 2 half circles, and follow me’d two bowls:

The one one the left, the first segment of the half circle is NOT perpendicular to the half face of the bowl (in this case, the green axis):

The one on the right has the first/last segments perpendicular to the green axis, resulting in a flat face:

I’ve been using the red axis to be perpendicular. I’ll try the green,

Red vs Green does not matter… it has to do with the direction of the edges of the circle. If you draw from the origin and snap out to an axis, it will place a point, not the center of a face, on the axis. Simply select the circle, and move the center point of an edge to the axis then cut in half:

Not a matter of which axis, it’s a matter of drawing perpendicular to the first segment of the arc however it is oriented.

OK, that works. Thanks to all.
