Good morning,
I’m trying to put roads on terrain with drape tool. The drape tool in sandbox ext, creates outlines / faces of objects on the terrain or a flat surface. The outlines/faces on the terrain then can modify textures and thickness on each face. Any other objects or surfaces are taking projected outlines, but not the roads.I’ve put other objects on surfaces with the drape tool that worked. Thanks for your help. I’ve uploaded a file.

You’ve hidden all the edges in your road geometry so there’s nothing available to drape. Unhide all those edges and then it’ll work fine. Here I’ve edited three of thegroups to unhide their edges and Drape works fine.
Thanks much, I’ll try that. I needed to separate out the terrain apart from the streets, instead of drawing the lawn and grass sidewalks out indivdually taking a lot of time. The drape tool will save a lot of time, thanks
I was unable to find the adjustment for unhiding the edges in geometry. Is it under the view tab of the menu bar?
Open the group for editing by triple clicking on it. Then select Unhide. Rinse and repeat for the rest of the groups until you have all of the edges unhidden.
It would be faster if you explode all the small groups first.
thanks, how can I enlarge the images you’ve transfered over to me? They are exellent review, but too small for viewing.
There isn’t anyway to enlarge the GIFs that I know of. The forum makes them smaller.
I was able to project the roads successfully !! Thanks !
I already tried draping a few roads onto the surface, and it works !! thanks
If you use Chrome-based browser, right-click the image, and choose “Open image in new tab”.
Hello,
Some of the road sections aren’t draping correctly. The intersections as shown in the file uploaded, are unable to drape and create faces by closing a loop. Most others have worked successfully, except for a very few as shown in the file that are undraped. And is there an option for batch draping rather than singling at a time? To do entire districts takes a long time.
thanks
