I’ve a question. In office, where i’m working, we have mostly sketchup 2015 licenses. I am exeption, and on my computer there is standalone sketchup 2016 license. Each time when i am saving file, i have to change file format from 2016 to 2015 to ensure possibility of opening it by other workers. It’s quite problematic for me. Is there an option for setting default file format other then current version?
I’d be grateful for help.
@grzemo I just saw your post from March 7 - sorry we missed this. The total answer would include "Your office should be all upgraded to the most recent version of SketchUp Pro 2016 (Downloading SketchUp | SketchUp Help) BUT, it’s possible that a developer might be interested in writing a ruby script for this. May I recommend that you post this question in the “Developers” category on the Forum?
I too recommend upgrading…
But, this short script has already been written…
If adds a new item in the File menu “Save as 2015”.
Install it in v2016 and shortcut a key-combo to it.
Train yourself to use that when saving rather than the native method…
You need to have saved the file at least once in the current SketchUp using the native ‘Save’.
It’s easily adjusted to other versions etc…

thanks for reply, but our whole office has now sketchup2016, so it isn’t problem anymore.
