Can someone please help me understand why the arrows for the 120 dimension appear outside the dimension lines
instead of inside like all the others?
They all have the same settings
I can figure it out. I want them all to be the same.
I added a smaller dimension to demonstrate that there is indeed room for them. I don’t why it does it 
Could you share the LayOut file?
Generally this happens because the text box for the dimension is too long.

I went to see if I can change it by double clicking on dimension, to see if there is anything I can do

no no, its all good - moved the text box a little higher and the arrows popped in again - I have no idea why they went out in the first place. thanks for the tip anyway 
The bottom part of the text box (to your right) covers the area where the arrows would be so they get put outside the extension lines. Moving the text box up (left) fixes that.
Having the arrows outside the extension lines is a common thing when the dimension text is so long the arrows get covered.
