Note that whether aligned or not, SketchUp doesn’t merge separate objects automatically, so it will display profile edges. If you need the end pieces to stay separate, you can hide the edges and faces that touch each other to create an appearance of a continuous object.
OK, I managed to make a 2x4x8’ with diagonal cuts at each end by first drawing a long trapezoid and pushing the 1.5” width. Is it now possible to change its length without proportional scaling of the angle, i.e. preserve the 45 degree ends?
Simple scaling changes the angle because it scales both the long edges proportionally. I understand why this happens, I would like to know if there’s a way of preventing it and keeping the angle.
Here’s the result after scaling it to 2’ long, the 45 degree angles have been reduced.
