Devorce a copyed component

Is it possible to divorce a copied component so it can be further modified without effecting the original or other copies?

YES

  1. Point to the copy.
  2. Click the right button on your mouse (or pointing device.)
  3. Choose “Make Unique” from the popup context menu.

SketchUp will create a unique component definition for the copy, using the same name, but adding a hash character and number suffix.

Has a foot note to Dans reply. You can select a few component not just one , so those chosen will alter together.
