Deleting a template

These are all great directions and obviously solutions for most, however none have worked for me. I am PC, SU Pro 16 and can’t delete unwanted templates I created while learning the program. I have searched the Layout Template folders and all files with the .layout extension and no matches to the template name. Do templates have a different extension? I have deleted the original file and the templates still show up.

Thank for any ideas and help.

To repeat:

Each User’s customized LO Templates folder is in their AppData path - e.g.

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2016\LayOut\Templates

The main ‘shipped’ LO Templates folder and its various subfolders of templates.layout files are found in:

C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2016\LayOut\templates

These are available to all Users on that PC.

Check for duplicate template names in the two locations... These may be 'hidden-folders' so you might need to change your 'folder-options' to see them/their contents...

TIG,

THANKS for reiterating! After I unhid folders in Explorer I failed to notice the ProgramData folder and kept going to Program Files. DOH!

Much appreciation!

Windows has handy shortcuts to navigating to these folders even if they are hidden:
Type %programdata% or %appdata% to the Search box in Start menu or the Start screen and press Enter. The same goes for several other predefined system file locations.
