Tags are obviously important for efficient organization of Sketchup models. It would be wonderful if the developers could add a feature to organize tags across the “Tags panel” and the “Entity info panel”.
In addition the feature should extend into the tags section of the “Sketchup model panel” in Layout.

I use a numbering scheme 1.xxx, 2.xxx, 3.xxx and so on. This makes it a lot easier to add layers - oops, tags - in between already existing ones.
I’m a little late here but just wanted to say I think that’s a great idea! It would be extremely helpful to me too (and I’m sure many others.)
After thinking a lot and and experimenting for several years, I tried to make myself settle into something. Still a WIP, my template looks like this with all the tag folders collapsed. There’s lots of room for expansion under some of the sections.
Before anyone says something, yes, yes, you’re not supposed to put raw geometry on a tag, but should the circumstance come along where you need to, there’s a place for it, and by having double exclamation points, they sort right under Untagged, and should be turned on for any scene saved for model editing.
