I am a store planner and have each fixture we use individually drawn. Within each file I have a component named the same as the file name so it makes sense when i pull from the component menu. I am getting double and multiple items on separate rows when exporting to a CSV. It appears that the original is there and then SKP is adding a #1 to another line item of the same thing. Can someone help clarify what the naming hierarchy is when creating a sketchup file, the component name, description, etc, because I think that might be my problem, but having trouble establishing a clean file hierarchy for each fixture. It works great when I pull labels in Layout, but not the export. I have also tried all the settings in the export option for “sorting” and it does not help.
Note that if you start a new model, create a component, and then save the file with the same name as the component within, and then insert that into a new model, you are creating a situation where the component references itself. This might result in what you are experiencing. The correct procedure is to create the component, right-click on it and select “save as…” from the popup menu.
I am not following… do I leave the default “component” in the definition box? Then when I right click on the component I get a Save out to Device, Warehouse, Trimble option.
Have you tried making the component “unique”?
Something is making them unique, maybe more than one definition? Please upload source files and problem file
Alternately consider using basic dynamic components using “Name” and making it = _name (the original named definition)

It would be helpful to see a few of these models that are causing issues. Maybe make a sample store layout with a few of these components you have made inside of it and post it here. Otherwise we can all guess as to how to help.
Here is my best guess on how I would fix it:
I think this is where your problem is. Maybe re-think how you are creating these.
Create new drawing.
Model your fixture, shelf, bracket, display case / whatever.
Create a component of that ^^ - add all the information you want in entity info.
Right click on the component >Save as… (no need to save the drawing you are making the component in as the same name…)
Put all of these in a folder somewhere you can easily access them. You can go back and open any of them to edit them by double clicking on them or File>Open…
Create a new drawing (a new store layout?) - I assume you have a template setup for this.
When you need a bracket or shelf or whatever - Go to Window>Components… Open Local Collection… and navigate to the folder where you saved your components.
When you start a new drawing you can then drag things in from the Components browser / pallet by opening this collection. Note that if you need to make multiples of a component - once you have the component in your working drawing just Move+Copy them around and make Unique as needed. You do not need to keep dragging them in (and I believe this will create lots of #1 addenda to your component names.
I remembered the menu contents wrong. I meant the Save out to Device option.
