Copy attribute, does not make copies, merely moves the object to copy location

Trying to make component copy itself as shown in video on Making components that copy page Making components that copy | SketchUp Help.
Following the procedure in the video does not accomplish making the copies.
It moves the component to where the final copy would be placed.

Try saying “COPY” (in singular) instead of “copies” (in the plural). Image enclosed.

The copy attribute is read only and not an attribute we enter.
It describes what copy you are inspecting the attributes for.
The copies attribute is how many copies you want.
