Collaborating/Sharing in Layout

Hi,

Hope someone can help… Is it possible to collaborate/share Layout files so multiple users can contribute to a single project? Preferably without copying and pasting drawings from one file to another, which aside from creating extra work, it seems like a good way to compromise the accuracy of the information.

Though I usually work solo to produce the architectural construction documents, I’m currently working with an interior designer who will be contributing to the construction documents. In the end we need one combined final set of construction drawings.

Any advice is much appreciated.

PS to SketchUp Team: This seems like something that should be easily doable already.

Thank you,
Jamie

It is not currently possible to have more than one user updating a LayOut file at the same time. I agree that would be a great feature to add in future versions. Perhaps as LayOut gains wider adoption.

For now, we get around it by copy/paste. If we’re doing it in real time, one user is in the file while another has a copy and then sends emails their parts. Sounds like you’re already doing a similar work around already.

Be sure to add this to the feature request thread if you haven’t done so already.
