Can't import DWG file - I will pay for help

Hi, my final project is due tonight and I am panicking because I am unable to import the final into my sketchup to even begin working. I will pay anybody to PLEASE help me. If nothing else can someone at least direct to somewhere I can get help if not here.

You need to share the file. What version of SketchUp are you using? You put Free Plan 2020 in your forum profile. Does that mean you are using a cracked version?

You came to the wrong place to get help for school/university projects.

I believe it is actually the most up to date and paid for version of Sketchup. The issue is importing a DWG file

Why did you put nonsense information in your profile? You’re coming here for help and put incorrect information in your profile. Find out what it really is and fix your forum profile.

And then you revised it with SketchUp for Schools which is a web based version for young school children.

What happens when you try to import the .dwg file? How big is the file?

Sorry, I changed it. I am starting with a JPG. I need to make it a DWG in order to proceed with the project.

You changed it to a web-based version for school children.

You can import the JPG into SketchUp and then trace it. Why do you need a .dwg file?

how do i trace it? other projects ive imported to sketchup have been in dwg file and it allowed me edit and raise the walls, etc

If you’d properly identify the SketchUp version we could give you better information. Import the JPG image as an image into SketchUp and then use the drawing tools, Line, Rectangle, Arc, Circle, etc, to trace the image to create geometry you can work with and make 3D.

And the issue is not that you can’t import a DWG file, it’s that you need to import a JPG file to use as a reference for creating your 3D model. Take some time to go through the training at learn.sketchup.com so you can learn how to do your school work.

I’m not sure why everyone responding is being so demeaning. I am in my first semester in a packed and condensed summer course and I am doing my best. Thank you for your help. Marking as solution.

I have 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats an amazing wife and I take care of the house, cook, clean, grocery and shop run my own design business … welcome to life.

¯_(ツ)_/¯
