Can't 'get' the Black axis for Rotate

Hi.
I can’t seem to find the black axis to rotate about.
In my attached model, I want to Rotate Flap up around the dotted line.

The trick is to hold down (drag) your left mouse button when placing the protractor.
You can check this too (your case is around 3:00 )

(Edit: Sure Box is faster :wink: )

Ya, except for the magic part where your Rotate tool goes from red to black.
Mine stays red.
Are you using some kind of control key?

Try holding the left mouse button while you drag along the line you want as the axis of rotation.
