I was attempting to label some ductwork with different sizes so that it would appear on the cylindrical surface as you’d see in real life, as opposed to tags with pointers Enter text.skp (1.1 MB)
Anyways, I was not successful and now the components that I was trying to do this brings the text "enter text’ onto any file I add them too. I have tried to edit it out, but can’t seem to find the way to do it.
Open each of the pipe componets for editing, drag a left to right selection window around the text, press Delete. Rinse and repeat for each pipe component.
By the way, you should turn off Length Snapping in Model Info>Units.
Also, since you’ve scaled these components without scaling their geometry you should right click on each one and click on Scale Definition to update them.
Dave, thanks for that, but I still can’t seem to delete the text. I select one of the pipe lengths, the ‘enter text’ highlights to blue, once I select ‘edit component’ the text greys out and I can’t delete it. I trust the I am doing something incorrect, but can’t seem to figure out what. Sorry for being obtuse about this.
you’ll find it easier to delete them if you activate view > component edit > hide rest of model (I always advise to add a shortcut to toggle it - it has none by default)
Ahh, I was pulling from left to right not the other way around. It works now.
Thank you also Paul. I knew it was something simple I was missing.
Thanks.
Either direction will work in this case, it’s just that it is difficult to see the selection as they are stacked on top of each other, and the still closed components tend to be ‘on top’. Just make the selection and delete.
Yes they did, thanks! I knew it was something simple, but I was stumped. I had a lot of work going through the actual duct design to clean it up. Still have to scale the geometry. I applied a light blue to the supply side so it looks like the reverse face. Red is the return system. Here is the project:
I have a few iterations of this with rectangular duct and different route patterns. This plan is not set in stone and I will still have an HVAC tech review it, but I hope to install it myself while the ceiling is open to add hurricane clips, reinforcing the trusses, run new water and electricity and insulate.
