I am running Sketchup Pro 2021 on my now aging iMac 27" 2019 with Sequioa. It is super sluggish and crashes frequently. Can someone suggest a proper replacement package? I am less concerned about $ than I am about getting something powerful enough to carry me through the next few years.

I went from 2019 iMac 27” to an M2 Mac Studio. I render as well as do photography work.
Today I would spend the same €£$ on the M4 Studio, and get the version with the highest specs you can afford.
This was mentioned in your thread on SketchUp crashing but I’ll mention it again. Many users have reported that older versions of SketchUp don’t tend to be very stable with newer Mac OS versions. I don’t think it matters how much money you throw at a new computer. You may still end up experiencing the same thing with SketchUp 2021. If you do find it unstable you’ll have two options. Update to the latest version of SketchUp or drop back to an operating system that was supported by SketchUp 2021. The latter may be problematic with a new Mac.

@joeclark99 roll back your iMac, or upgrade SKP. I don’t think you have any other choice.
Do both then - new Mac, and upgrade to SKP 2025 (or 2026 if you wait a bit to buy).
All good advice. But I can’t ‘buy’ the new SKP!
I’m curious about what you plan to do then. Are you going to buy a new Mac and then try rolling the operating system back to OS 11 or 12?
You should install MacOS Monterey, there are known issues with the sketchup materials on Mac and new OS versions, the crashes won’t stop with a new machine, actually if you don’t want to upgrade to a newer version of sketchup it’s better to keep your intel iMac, sketchup 2021 runs under Rosetta 2, a real time translator from x86 to arm, this emulator won’t be available on future OS releases, that means that sketchup 2021 won’t run on Mac machines with an M series chip.
They can’t. New Macs can only be rolled back to the OS that was installed when they were built.
Only real option here for @joeclark99 is to roll back his Intel Mac.

Do you have a cellphone and broadband account? You can own the cellphone but you can’t do anything useful with it unless you pay a device provider for access to their network.
Same goes for your internet - you can own the router and WiFi boxes and even your own computer, but you wouldn’t be posting here without access through a service provider (unless you are posting from a local library).
Software has changed. I know you don’t like it, you’ll have to find a different tool, or you will need to roll back your iMac and keep it on an OS that worked for you.
Everyone’s got their own priorities, so some off the “you should do this or that” stuff isn’t really answering his question.
You can roll back to the first ARM64 kernel OS — Big Sur. I rolled back to Sonoma and run SU2021 just fine. Newer versions has some issues here, but also depends on Plugin’s. You can also Install a second latest OS version and run that when not working in SU. Restarted and changed in a few minutes.
The whole computer is now substantially slower with Sequoia, probably because it is operating on a 6 year old computer. So it might make sense overall to backtrack to Sonoma…at least until I buy a new Mac…at which point I’ll probably have to bite the bullet and pay for the subscriber version of Skp!
It would be better to roll back to Monterey, there’s a problem with the Mac materials window and Sonoma, if you try to resize or move the window, sketchup will crash. That doesn’t happen with Monterrey.
