C++ API still exist? slapi.framework?

I’m confused by this documentation page:
http://www.sketchup.com/intl/en/developer/su-api/

I would like to compile and play with these simple C++ examples (.skp readers and writers) but I can’t find where I should download the slapi.framework for Mac OS X. Do these still exist? Other pages make me feel as though this has been retired.

It is slowly being replaced with a C API, so expect the old C++ API to be deprecated soon (like within a few release cycles [which are years.])
